Kelly Sue interview Steve Niles at Sequential Tart

On zombies and Canadians:

KS: Speaking of horror archetypes, you're doing a zombie book with Kieron Dwyer called Remains.

SN: Writing the first issue today, actually.

KS: How's it going?

SN: Well, I changed the location. I decided Reno was cooler than Vegas.

KS: Not Atlantic City? That's where all the real zombies live.

SN: Reno.

KS: Okay. Isn't that part of Remains' appeal — that it changes locales issue to issue?

SN: No, each series will take place in a different locale. That is, if we do another series after the Dwyer one.

KS: Each series — I see. I thought this was going to be self-contained issues along the lines of Global Frequency.

SN: Who'd be crazy enough to do that?

KS: You'd have to be a Brit. They're poopers, you know.

SN: I know. Believe me I know. But at least they're not Canucks.

KS: Hey, now. Why you gotta pick on Canada? They gave us k.d. lang and William Shatner.

SN: And Todd McFarlane.

KS: Oh.
