Pitch Summer Guide

The Pitch Summer Guide pieces are up: Doolittle Farms, Block Party and The Guber Burger.

The Kitchen Sink verse was finished at about two o'clock this morning and is now in the hands Steven Sanders for illustration.

Deadline Cluster

Pretty much made it through the deadline cluster and I'm still breathing. (The trash is piled up in the kitchen, the laundry basket runneth over and if I were granted one wish right now, I'd pass over "World Peace" for "An Organized Office," but nevermind all that. My artbomb.net deadline came and went. That's the only one I regret.)

The Pitch

Three pieces for The Pitch Summer Guide have been researched, written and handed over to the lovely and talented Miss Gina Kaufmann. I know you're all on the edge of your seats. Two words: "guber" and "burger."

Tokyopop

I turned in the English adaptation of Demon Diary, Vol. 3 to Tokyopop last night. I'm pleased with it. I think it's taken me this long to find my stride. Which is not to say that Demon Diary, Vol. 1 is an inferior product, by any means, but I'm getting more comfortable as I go. Vol. 1, by the way, is on the shelves at Barnes & Noble in the Manga section. Obviously, it's available for order from Amazon, as well. Keep it mind for your '10-15 year old girl' gift giving needs. It's equally appropriate for 'pervy old men who enjoy reading manga intended for 10-15 year old girls.' I know you know who I mean.

Or, you know, my mom. My mom should order one, too. My mom is neither a 10-15 year old girl, nor a pervy old man. Do see the range and depth of this book? Do you see it?

Upcoming:

Kitchen Sink Magazine

I've promised Steven Sanders the script for our Kitchen Sink Magazine project by the 14th, so that he can have it Laurenn McCubbin by June 1st. I can't tell you too much about it, save that it involves cowgirls and oddballs and Hindu mythology and it's written in verse.

Perfect Bound

My thanks to everyone who wrote to me about PERFECT BOUND. I think Dave Iseri and I are going to play around a little and see if we can make our schedules and our styles synch.

I do have this idea, though, that I want to do a series of thematically-linked mini-comics, all about the size of a Chick tract, beginning with Perfect Bound. So, if you wrote to me, I saved your e-mail and I may contact you down the line. In my fantasyland, we do 8 or 10, then bind them together and make a boxed set.
