Coviello Sweater Progress

Coviello Cropped Jacket Back - Complete

The back piece is finished, as is left front. Right front, trim and sleeves remain.

I know you've all been on the edge of your seats.

When it's done, it'll look like this:

James Coviello Cropped Jacket Progress

James Caviello Sweater Progress

My progress on the James Coviello cropped jacket from VogueKNITTING Holiday 2005.

There's a picture of the pattern on the Blue Sky Alpacas site, though I'm using Brown Sheep's Burly Spun.

Okay, so this is kind of fascinating: you can now post quicktime movies to a site called VIMEO, and link them to your flickr account.

I just tried it with home movies of me and my mom. Be warned, it's INCREDIBLY SAPPY. (My mom didn't know the films still existed - we found them in my grandparent's attic. I cut the film together as a surprise for her birthday.)

So, that's me over there ---> with the bowling ball.

Thanks to the beautiful and talented Christine Norrie for the pointer.

  Happy Birthday, Terry!

Belated birthday wishes to T2 -- Terry Tyson, who celebrates on the same day as Ellis -- the 16th!

Hope it was a fine one.

Last Night

I dreamt that Jim Rockford and I were trying to save a bunch of kids from being starved by the owner of a fancy shoe store at the top of the Empire State Building. Only the ESB was built into a cliff. I was undercover as a teenager.

EDITED TO ADD: This is apparently my thousandth post...? Can that possibly right? My god.

Happy Birthday, Warren!

The internet's sweetheart has had a rough few months. Be a dear and send him birthday wishes, or, you know, pictures of your butt.

Happy birthday, Genius.

  The Twitch in My Eye

The first time my left eye twitched in a way that I couldn't control, I was going through the most traumatic break-up of my life. The second time was in the aftermath of 9-11.

I seem to remember there being another instance since -- when I was moving from NYC, maybe? Dunno.

Anyway, my eye's been twitching on and off for the last two days.

That can't be a good sign.

  #@%$#@^!!

  • Worklog update posted yesterday.

  • After doing embarrassing amounts of preparation, I totally forgot to call the Nerd Prom reservation line at the crack of dawn this morning. By the time I did pick up the phone the line was permanently busy and the webpage wouldn't load. I finally managed to get a good rate online at a nice hotel, but it's not where we usually stay and I'm spoiled by how close we've been to the con the last few years. Fraction is going to see if we can buy a room off of one of his publisher's blocks. We'll see. The funny thing is, the room we did get is in one of my absolute favorite hotel chains -- ordinarily I'd be thrilled. I'm only grumpy because I like to stay out late and wear fancy shoes during Nerd Prom. Half-mile hikes do not make late nights and fancy shoes easy. Wah.

The Little Red-Headed Boy -- TIMES TWO!

My GOD I love the Olympics, people. And Harry Potter.

(When I was in high school I had a MAD crush on our school's Little Redheaded Boy, one Jeff Farris. I was so smitten that I asked him to arm wrestle. True story.)

    Note to Self: Garden

I've been day-dreaming about spring lately.

So far, I know I want to plant peppers, stevia, mint and pussywillows.

    Alas.

I'm very sad but I don't think there's any way I can participate in the Knitting Olympics.

I already have two projects started and I don't want to buy yarn for another before those are finished.

    Boo and hiss.

    Miller High Life Commercial
Have you seen that Miller High Life commercial where the VO girl says that her guy realized his western wear was drawing the wrong kind of attention...? It's the one with the '2 beer strategy.' Is that supposed to be a Brokeback Mountain reference or am I being paranoid?
