Fall trend I’m kind of into: ombre. Reminds me of Perrin from 2001 (2000?) Haven’t picked anything up, but I’m keeping an eye out.
Too old for HL yet, but still cool: Crayon Rocks
We’re shopping for a chair for HL. I put four options on his Amazon list here. Moms and Dads out there: any thoughts? Suggestions?
NPR did a piece on Gaiman’s THE GRAVEYARD BOOK. Check it out here. (I was honored to have been sent a .pdf file of the book to read before it went to print. Unfortunately, I was a little too raw after the birth of my own son for a story that opened with a toddler in peril, but I have since, uh, girded my loins, and had another go and I must say that (unsurprisingly) I love it. I’ll write more in good time, but for the moment: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.)
We’re having a very hippy dinner tonight. Fraction’s father would be appalled. Luckily, he’s not dining with us this evening!

Not a mom, but faux leather gets torn up so easily, especially where little feet push at the seams when they’re curled up. The P’Kolino chair with pockets(!) and the stain resistant fabric is probably my favorite, fwiw. My biggest concern would be that it’s apparently light weight — and he’s still pulling himself up on stuff.

Franci — Yes, quinoa.

Ariana - Yeah, I’m leaning towards that one, even though I don’t love the look of it. It seems like a, uh, wise choice. Plus, we’re looking at having a room finished in either the attic or the basement for a playroom, in which case we might want a couple of chairs. We could get a cuter one for the livingroom later, you know?

T2 — The red on is gorgeous, isn’t it? Though Brian Reed sent a nice email about the IKEA one saying his 2 year old had fallen in love with it, so it’s possible that excepting the Target dark brown club chair, there really isn’t a loser in the group.

Theron — Red lentils, quinoa, rosemary sweet potatoes, broccoli and black beans. Lots of vitamins. And, uh, roughage.

Only because it’s slipcovered, and the one I had previously got juice and barf on it. At least with this one, it can be washed.

Also I ‘m a sucker for anything that I can put my kid’s name on.
