• Anthropologie’s Harvest Sun sweatercoat and white rose scarf. I don’t actually own either one, they’re working for me in theory. Meaning, I like looking at them in the catalog.
• The Kansas City Public Library. Why do I always forget about the library? So many books! And they’re all FREE! I’m making my way through a stack of espionage books at the moment. I also have THE POWER OF MYTH on CD and a SIGNING TIME DVD for Henry. Free!!
• The Tax Policy Center’s site, for helping me understand the candidates’ tax plans.

• Christina Applegate on Oprah. (Yeah, sometimes I watch Oprah. I also like Martha. Bite me.) Not only did she share the story of her mastectomy with grace, but she did it while wearing what is possibly the most beautiful teal blouse I’ve ever seen. What? Does that make me shallow? Sorry. She was incredible… but so was that blouse.
